From shiny new arrivals to timeless furnishings, it seems like there's something in the water at John Lewis right now. It's hardly a shock from one of the UK's best loved retailers, but this autumn has seen things reach a new level of stylish. Best of all? Their cushions. With everything from crochet numbers to animal prints, we've pulled together a selection of twelve lovely cushions, from which we have created sets that can be bought together or as individuals.
Pattern on pattern
Bursting with character and colour, this trio of cushions would be just as happy in a country cottage as in a flat in the heart of a city. The striped cushion keeps this set from veering into ‘twee’ territory and the crochet cushion brings some much needed texture to an otherwise pattern heavy set.
A pared-back palette
A classic, muted combination, these three cushions would look great on any sofa. We'd double up on the chenille and herringbone numbers and place them either side of the printed cushion, allowing it to sing.
On safari
On paper, using two animal-print and a sheepskin cushion together might sound overwhelmingly maximalist. However, thanks to their tonal palette and richly textured surfaces, the effect is quietly pleasing.
Pretty and printed
These charming, frilly cushions work beautifully together, accentuating each other without ever clashing. As in the first set shown, the velvet striped cushion gives this trio a more modern edge, preventing things from feeling too pretty.
